FIND A PLASTIC SURGEON IN HOUSTON

Finding a Plastic Surgeon

There are several ways to find a plastic surgeon. One way is to ask for recommendations from your primary care physician or other healthcare professionals you trust. Another way is to search for plastic surgeons in your area on the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) website, which has a directory of certified plastic surgeons. You can also check with your insurance company to see which plastic surgeons are covered under your plan. Additionally, you can ask friends or family members if they have any recommendations, or check online reviews.

A great plastic surgeon is someone who is highly skilled, experienced, and well-trained in performing plastic surgery procedures. They should have a strong understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the areas they operate on, as well as the ability to use advanced surgical techniques and technologies. Additionally, they should have a good bedside manner and be able to communicate effectively with patients, addressing their concerns and answering their questions. A good plastic surgeon also will have a good reputation, positive reviews and before/after pictures of their patients. Certifications by national and international boards of plastic surgery also will be a plus.

Some of the most common plastic surgeries performed include:

  • Breast augmentation: Involves the use of implants to increase the size and shape of the breasts.
  • Liposuction: A procedure that uses a suction technique to remove excess fat from the body.
  • Tummy Tuck: Removes excess skin and fat from the abdominal area, and tightens the muscles of the abdominal wall.
  • Rhinoplasty: Surgery to change the shape of the nose, typically performed to improve the appearance or function of the nose.
  • Facelift: Surgery to improve the appearance of the face by removing excess skin and tightening the underlying muscles.
  • Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty): Removes excess skin and fat from the upper and lower eyelids, improving the appearance of the eyes.
  • Botox and fillers: Non-surgical treatments that can be used to smooth wrinkles, plump up lips, and enhance facial features.

It's worth noting that the above list is not exhaustive and there are other plastic surgeries such as ear reshaping, thigh lift, arm lift, laser resurfacing, and many more.
